Debangan Mukherjee

Charu Jain: Aapne Singing as a career and passion choose karne ka kab socha? Aur kaise?
Debangan Mukherjee: I am learning singing from the age of 5, started learning piano from 9 years of age. Competing in various competitions and winning them was very prestigious for me. The biggest support and encouragement I got is from my ‘MAA’. She is not with us anymore but her blessings took me to this way, where i am standing today.
I used to perform in various occasions, colleges, corporate, etc during my early college days. Getting appreciations, applause, crowd roaring my name, it made me decide to make music as my career. Music made me what I am now.
CJ: "Bandeh" kaise form hua? And how's it with the band?
DM: "BANDEH" the name is very sensitive for me, or you can say its a stamp on me, or a new birth of mine.
My friend cum brother ‘Sujoy’ (Guitarist) gave me this idea to form a band for clubs, private gigs. Though i didn't like the idea because I was doing quite well as a freelance artist and a well known face in the city.
It was just a casual approach for Bandeh. Then we started as duo, people from clubs started loving and we got more offers. We connected to two of our old friends who are with us now as Bass guitarist and Drummer in Bandeh.
We continued to rock all gigs with sold out tag in all the clubs. Private, colleges, concerts, corporates, it is continuing like a tornado.
It feels glad to know everyone love us and they wait eagerly for my gigs.
CJ: "Bandeh" naam ka idea kaise aaya?
DM: My manager, Mr. Nikunj Khandelwal named it, I call myself ALLAH KE BANDEH
CJ: Aap Kolkata aur baaki jagah itne performances karte ho, aapke experiences ke baare mein kuch bataiye.
DM: Apart from Kolkata, we go abroad also Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh. Cities like Mumbai, Siliguri, Ranchi, Bengaluru, etc we have performed and the achievement was the response which we get.
Kolkata is my city and it will be the forever best for me. After all, I started from here. Wont forget my roots till my last breath.
CJ: Aapke idol kaun hai? Kya aap ab tak unse mil paye hai?
DM: The one and only, Arijit Singh sir is my idol. I haven't met him till now but soon will. Fingers crossed.
CJ: Singing ke alava, aapke kya interests hai?
DM: I play piano and various intruments. But very few people know that I am a school teacher working in Julien Day School, teaching music.
CJ: One of your best moments till date?
DM: I met my lady love in one of my gigs. When she turned on the flashlight for one of my songs, it created a spark in my heart.
Arreh Dil le gayi!
CJ: What are your future goals?
DM: Trying for playback, coming out with new songs. Giving my 100%. Will continue with this.
