Khushboo Atre X AADAR Cover

Charu Jain: How did Acting grab your interest as a career?
Khushboo Atre: It happened when I was doing a workshop after a year into being in Mumbai. It totally changed my perspective towards this craft. I got to know myself better during those exercises and it gave me a certain satisfaction while I learned how to study and play someone other than you. Before this it was all glam, good clothes, fame and everything which I thought was cool, until I dived into the original pool of what acting is really about, it’s about knowing your own character then slowly learning the depths of human behavior. I love what I do, and I wanna keep learning.
CJ: You have been a part of TV Serials as well as Movies. What major difference do you see in the both as an actor?
KA: TV serials doesn’t have much range I guess. The creative side there is somewhere stuck while movies and with OTT booming there’s so much more well written and imagined world in these mediums.
CJ: You are also a voice over artist for a lot of cartoons. Can you name one of your favorites and why?
KA: There was an original animation called Kallari kids. It’s a property of prime video I use to do three characters in that called Shyam, Unni and Mani and I loved the character Unni in it the most. It was a 6-year old boy kid and it had this innocence along with a really notorious side to it. I loved giving my voice to that.
CJ: You have won hearts as "Ratna" in Criminal Justice. How was your experience?
KA: It was beautiful. Unbelievable at first and am going to be forever grateful that I got to play Ratna. Thankful to BBC and applause for actually choosing me opposite one of the most loved actors in the country and believing that I would compliment him on screen. Criminal justice did gave me a place where am getting better opportunities now.
CJ: How was it working with Pankaj Tripathi?
KA: It was very easy and nice. He is a very down to earth guy and very accommodating. He never came with a baggage of one of the biggest actors of the country, always so approachable and humble.
CJ: Your best experience in Acting so far?
KA: I have to say criminal justice season 2 because I can never forget the kind of calm I used to feel while we were filming that and also, it reassured my faith in a fair play.
CJ: What are your upcoming projects?
KA: Am currently filming for two films there’s a web show that might start by the year end and everything else is on the talks. Hopefully I’ll have multiple releases next year. Fingers crossed
